Hello:

Sorry to folks in Kitchener and Hamilton, but I injured my back and will not be playing these two shows with Shannon this Saturday and Sunday.
Somehow I threw out my back this morning in Montreal and I feel like I am 70 right now, but the unfortunate result is that I am spending the next couple of days at home and not playing these show that I was looking forward to.
I will be making up the shows in the new year and Shannon is still playing both of them, so I hope you will still go out and see him.
I will have a proper news update in the next few days...

Greetings All:

Just a quick hello from the west. Happy 30th birthday to Andrew Vincent, you are now old. Also birthday greetings to Werbo and Tom Thompson.
Shows: The trip has been great so far. I had a terrifying Sea Plane ride yesterday from Victoria to Vancouver where the pilot decribed the journey as just shy of "being in a paint shaker". It was complete with exhibition ride thrills, and lots of bobbing and weaving and dipping about. The German business men in front of me seemed completly unphased, but the couple behind me had their eys closed for most of the trip.
Alberta: Still three shows left on the trip, so if you are in Edmonton, you are not too late to come out tomorrow and come to both the Black Dog and Sidetrack. Mickey Valee is going to help out with a couple of numbers. He once lived in Ottawa and played with the ale swilling Jimmy George.
CBC Rasdio 3: Thanks to Grant, Don, James and Haig at CBC Radio 3 for having me come in yesterday to record a Radio 3 "In Session". Grant asked great questions aided by rumours and half truths supplied by Chris Page. It will not air for a while, but was great to do.

Good day then,

Fredericton:

Sleepy eyed in the afternoon at Jons' parents house in Fredericton. We left Ottawa at 6pm and made the drive through the night and arrived here at 6:30am.
We were greeting with an amazing northern lights display and stopped twice to stand around in the snow on the side of the road and make some photo attempts (I took these photos' with a 15 second exposure with the camera leaning on the roof of the van).
I am sick (as is Lomow), but I am ready to see how many of the Gmain songs I will remember tonight in front of his family and hometown friends.
Rolf is in waiting for the computer, so away I go...

This Week in Life:

Our heat is off and the temperature is dropping to minus 7 tonight, so it might be a cold one in our house. May the blankets be our friend tonight.

Ottawa Haywagon Hoedown hits the road!(From the Desk of Kelp Records).

The Ottawa Haywagon Hoedown crew are packing their vans for the East Coast! Greenfield Main, Fiftymen and Jim Bryson head to the Maritimes this week for four shows in Fredericton (Wednesday), Charlottetown (Thursday), Halifax (Friday) and Moncton (Saturday)- full details are below. We will have lots of fantastic stuff to give away, including pins, stickers and the free Kelp 10th Anniversary CD sampler, which contains some tracks from albums that won't be released until 2005. Be sure to ask for your copy as supplies are limited to the aggressive!

Here are those show dates one last time:

WED NOV 10TH - Fredericton, NB - MacPhail's Tap Room (Greenfield Main, Jim Bryson, Fiftymen)
THU NOV 11TH - Charlottetown, PEI - Baba's Lounge (Greenfield Main, Petunia, Fiftymen)
FRI NOV 12TH - Halifax, NS - Stage Nine (Greenfield Main, Jim Bryson, Fiftymen)
SAT NOV 13TH - Moncton, NB - The Player's Lounge (Greenfield Main, Fiftymen, Petunia)

If you are keen, there are flyers for each of the shows at www.kelprecords.com/posters/gmain. These files are smaller replicas of the show posters for each night, and are a good way to spread the word if you're into it. Thanks for your help!

If you're out in Halifax, listen to CBC Mainstreet (http://novascotia.cbc.ca/radio/mainstreet/) on Friday afternoon for an interview with Jim Bryson. Watch the Coast for a story on Fiftymen. And watch the Halifax Daily News and Halifax Chronicle-Herald this Thursday for stories on Greenfield Main and the Ottawa Haywagon Hoedown.

Also, if you missed it or are out-of-province, Jim Bryson recently co-hosted CBC Ontario's Bandwidth program with host Amanda Putz. They were kind enough to profile both Greenfield Main and the Acorn, and you can hear it all in realaudio by visiting the Bandwidth site here (http://ottawa.cbc.ca/bandwidth/artistofweek.html). I think I managed to make Sussex addicts out of both Jim and Amanda!
