I am excited to announce that I am heading to Newfoundland next week for a couple of shows. I am playing with the lovely Mark Bragg and inconveniencing my good friend Peter Rompkey.

We are in the Canadian Christmas Freeze her in Ottawa: -30 this morning. Wool socks and scarves are being worn around the house today.
Saturday was a really great night up at the Blacksheep Inn. Thanks for trekking up in the snow, people. Samir was awesome, the whole night was so fun. What a great way to end the year.

A Terrible Call:
I received a call from John Westhaver this morning informing me of the passing of Alex Soria of the Nils and Chino fame. ALex was an incredibly gifted songwriter and one which had a definate and strong influence on the music that I have written.

I was able to share the stage with the Nils and Chino and enjoyed quite a musical highlight in the old Bumpers one evening joining Alex on stage to sing Daylight. It is a tragic event and a great loss

Hey All:
Well, I put up a christmas tree yesterday, but have not decorated it. It looks pretty good just having a big tree in my living room and the cats are completelty enthralled by it.
Shuyler Jansen is here and we are figuring out where to go to have some lunch. Shuyler is in the midst of a 36 show, 40 day tour with Lane in support of the new Hobotron recording. They are still out playing so go

Shows: I am singing with Kathleen Edwards this Wednesday at the Phoenix COncert Hall. She is part of an event called "Yule Be Glad You Did" along with Sam Roberts, Matt Mays, Sarah Harmer, Cathy Jones, Tom Wilson, Danny Michel. K-OS, Ron Mclean and Michael Ondaajte are also appearing. It is a benefit for the United Way "Success by Six" program.
Black Sheep Inn: Next Friday is the sort of anual holiday
Black Sheep Inn show. This year, I am playing mostly solo, but may have a couple guests if I can think of any and remember to ask them. Tickets can be gotten by calling 1-819-459-3228. Openning the event is the wonderful Samir Khan of Kepler.
