Hmmmm:
I will keep this short, lots to do and you are all busy, so no real need to spend to your day on this .org site.
I had to include the photo that sits above the post here where you currently sit cause in hindsite, it seems very surreal and quite unbelievable. Really by definition, playing on Jay Leno and looking up and seeing Dr. Phil, Jay Leno and Ebert and Roper standing on the edge of the stage all watching us play bobbing along, legitimately can be call unbelievable. Dr. Phil told me that "it must be very confusing to play two things at once". Great day, great fun.
Ok, that is all for now, enjoy your day...

Back and Forth and Back Again:

Some wonder will the days off ever stop. The hardest part for many out here has been these days off. They are great after a lump of show, but more difficult to combat when they are as frequent as the shows themselves.
Long drives take up our nights and early mornings and for the second day in a row, we are off and relaxing. Today we are in Austin and the weather is really hot and humid, and everyone has been staying near the hotel and the pool. An evening excursion out is in the plan.
We are back here in Texas this week to tape Austin City Limits tomorrow with the legendary John Prine. For those unfamiliar, Austin City Limits is the long running music program that has been broadcast on PBS since 1975. I have no idea when is will air, but that will all fall in to place in due time.
Another highlight this week will happen on the 22nd, when we play the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
One final note: The Telluride Bluegrass Festival. WOW. That was the word of the day. At dinner, at the shows, walking around. It was so beautiful there and it was a real treat to be able to see Emmylou Harris and Wilco play up in the mountains. I noticed when we came off stage hours earlier, there weren oxygen tanks for the bands if they needed them. Good idea at 7000 ft. above sea level.
Here is a lovely photo of Joel surrounded by the hills and the buses at Telluride. Sammy will appreciate seeing her boy here.
Now go call your father...

Hey All:
We are here on the pacific coast in Soldano, California. Kevin and I spent the afternoon playing catch on the ocean. It has been such a great day. I am only saying this cause I know the weather is great back home, so I don't feel guilty gushing a little bit. After the cold rainy day in San Fransico, we have returned to some pretty nice cool summer weather.
We have found out that we are playing on Jay Leno on June 22nd, Kathleen would have this on her site, it is undergoing and upheaval, so she cannot do such things at this time.
We had a great day off yesterday in Los Angeles, Colin rented a car and we went on lots of fun adventures, including a trip up and around Mullholland Drive. So much fun, and a little "In and Out" burger to end the day.
Congratgulations the Sean and Antje on their wedding day today. While I am loving it here, I am sadly missing a great party tonight back home.
Well, that is all for now, have a great weekend,
jb...
PS: HERE are some more photos'. Thanks to Mr. Pate, the blog photo problem has been worked around. The second photo is of the rear end of the Willie Stargel Monument in Pittsburgh.

What are We Doing?:
What are we doing? Where are we? What happenned to us? Why does nobody write? All good questions.
Kevin and Colin are throwing the baseball around in a parking lot across the street from the bus. We are in Boise, Idaho on out first day off. We were home for a much needed week of rest, and while I have not completely solved my blogger issues, I can again post, just without photos' for the time being.
We will soon head southwest into Nevada and California and I wish we could curve off the path and head to the Grand Canyon, but this is not in the cards.
All of this touring has been amazing for me and has provided a well timed break from my own songs and shows. I had been feeling a little bummed about it all recently and thanks to all of this, I have been able to travel and play and not worry about much.
Sorry for the less frequent posts, but for now I have been going on walks during the day instead of writing blogs. Fitness over facts and rumours.
So what else, hmmmm, ok, a guy in North hampton , Mass. asked me if I knew anything about Canada building monuments for Vietnam draft dodgers? not a word of a lie. I replied that i was not aware of it and confidently express that "oh, its' happenning, you should look into it".
Oh, also a few of us on Thursday went to the Experience Music Project in Seattle to see the Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix exhibits. To quote Joel " It was a great $10 museum, and an ok $20 museum".
I am trying to get some photos' up on the Flickr site, so you can click HERE to see what is up there.

Ok, over, rovers......
