Over and Over Again:

Here we are. Here we are. Here is we. I am listening to a Tom Petty song over and over through the PA in the background. The Tragically Hip band and crew are treating us amazing and we are having a lovely leisurely time out here in the 709.

Well, here we are (the Kathleen band collectively I mean by saying we), and I am sitting in the gallows of the Steelback Center in Sault St. Marie writing to you. I keep thinking of the strange man that owns Steelback....Yeesh.....

Thanks Rivoli Land:

Thanks to those who ventured out to the Rivoli last Thursday, it was a really nice evening we had with AV there. Steffen Paulus took a few photos' and HERE is a link to those if you would like to see them. There are also photos' from the Horseshoe Dec. 21st show on his site as well.

Kelpingly Yours:

Well, Jon boy Bartlett made the official annoucement in a Kelp mailout last week and here I am doubling up to annouce: this boy is staying home. I am happy to tell you all that my 3rd record (titled now "Where the Bungalows Roam) will be released on March 27th by Kelp Records in association with Saved By Vinyl records here in the Canada land. Dawn at SBV will be handling the LPs' and Kelp will be running the CD ship from the Bank St. PO box. Lots of fun and interesting things are in the works with new idea going down the every couple of days from Jon.

Jon even made me my own Kelp page HERE, shucks...

So there it is, I am pleased as punch to be part of this little family...

Yahoo for Howe:

Congrats to our man in Tuscon Howe Gelb on being named with having the MOJO Magazine Americana album of 2006. We are heading back Europe way with Howe in April and then I may continue on my own to Ireland for a bit and russle up a couple of shows.

Bye for now,

Week Two, Year 2007:

Hey all. What is going on now out there is the your worlds? Lots to announce here coming up... We have pretty much shored up a release date for the record, although it is still untitled as of today. This whole titling of thing always alludes me.
I got some additional live photos' from over the last year, which will make there way to the
Flickr site eventually, but being a egomaniac, I thought I would share photo with you as it seems to show me in true "folk" form.
Well, I never did a year end list cause there are so darn many of them, but I will say that 2006 was a very interesting year for me. It was the first year where I actually felt old, and I mean that in a good way. I jogged from time to time and basically semi-retired from group activities such as hockey I think (except for the Exclaim Cup of course). I read a few books, bought a few records and went out of town lots. A whole lot of
us went to Spain and Portugal with Howe, I went on excellent duo tours with Kathleen and even got my old creaky songs out of the closet for a few "Occasionals" shows this year.

Back To Toronto:

So, after not playing in two years in Toronto, we are back next week for our second show in two months. Very exciting I think, the more shows the better right now. It is full band and Andrew Vincent is coming down from his new abode north of
Bloor with his landlord Andy Swan to open the show. Squint and maybe you can pretend it is the Friday of the Black Sheep holiday shows.
Here are the details:

Jim Bryson (w/ Dave Draves, Jake Bryce, Peter vonAlthen, Jon Lomow and *Jeremy Gara).
w/ Andrew Vincent.
Thursday January 18th

The Rivoli,

jim,
