Strange Days:

So I guess it makes sense that I update more when things are going on, so here is another one.
The photo above is from Air America radio where Kathleen was interviewed by Steve Earle. I tagged along and listened on and hung around for this photo. He was a true gentleman to us and had terrific stories to share.
And now the strange part of the day. When we walked into Joes' Pub later in the evening to play our show, I heard someone singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (There are two completely separate shows every night at this bar. They clear out the crowd and bring in a whole new one before our show). Well I'll be damned cause it was Bonnie Tyler singing that damn song and looking like she was ready for the Dallas cast reunion with her big 80s' hair and tight pants. Just up there belting it out, I thought it was a truly surreal moment. I told Kathleen never in my life did I ever expect to walk in a club and witness that, but also, I also never crossed my mind.
Well, I thought I would write about that happening before I forgot about it happening.
Over and out,

North Eastern:

Well, the postcard would go as follows: Good shows, good crowds, having a lovely time. Joel and Kathleen and I have been throwing around a couple of songs during encores together, with sometimes humourous results. Mr. Plaskett has been a wonderful fellow to wander around with. We are in NYC here today and playing two shows. Kathleen is also going on Steve Earles' Air America radio show while we are here. I imagine that is fairly exciting for her.
What else, hmmmm, heading out now, cannot sit inside in this city,

Away we go:

I have lost half my cables and strings and am in partial shambles, but away we go. In the great wide wilderness of New England. Oh yeah, I took this photo from WIRED magazines' website. Sorry...

Getting Sorted:

Hey all, just a quick hello, it is Monday morning and I am out and about and getting things in order for this next trip I am headed out on with Kathleen. We are heading to the Eastern USA for the rest of the month and I am looking forward to it for sure. I will try to take some photos' and get it going on the flickr site and also update the photo section in here as well.
I have gotten in much better recording shape in the last couple of weeks as well, having had a nice three days in Toronto getting things done. No release forcast, far too much to still do, but things are starting to shape up in any case.
There will be a song on the Kelp Anniversary Sampler next month and well, sometime down the line, there will be a collection of available songs.
Otherwise, just sitting around here reading Ray Robertson's "Gently Down The Stream" and heading out in the rain to see my parents.
Take care, and be good,

jb

PS: look up there up above, that photo...yup, Sara Perez took that.

Howe S'no Angel:

Um, tonight Howe Gelb and 13 of us start playing together here in Ottawa. 14 strong and eveyone kind of knowing how the songs go. We are headed to Europe in May with this band as well. The record is called Sno' Angel and Dave Draves worked long and hard on this one.
If you live in Ottawa or close, the show tonight at Babylon will be a experience indeed, we are all excited and it is really amazing to stand beside a choir.
Early show, starts at 7:30 over by 10:30pm at the latest, over, just like that,
