From the Desk of Flecton:

From time to time (more recently than in times before) I get links to stories and music blogs and such from my friend Flecton.
Being someone who occasionally (more recently than in times before) has a lot of time on hand, I find this e-advice a good occupier.
To my "9-5 workplace war correspondent", I say thank you.

Two now here below for you to enjoy. The first is a game of sorts, modified to fit into our modern world. The second I present to simply allow a chance to laugh wherever you are out there. The second is from McSweeney's and the first is from Kitten Pants.

1. Ipod War

2. John Moes' Pop Correspondences : A terrific line by line examination of the Guns and Roses song "Sweet Child o' Mine". I read this a couple of weeks back and hot dang, it is good.

Mixing of Songs:

I booked mixing time this morning with Darryl Neudorf for the 15 songs I recorded off and on over the last 8months with Mr. Draves at Bullhorn and Chris at the Woodshed.
Aside from mixing all of the Neko Case records, Darryl came very highly recommended via bass man Bazil Donovan.
This does not mean; however, that I have a record set to be released quite yet, but it does get it close enough for me to at least start to consider deciding on these other earthly decisions that need to be made eventually.

Gelbin' in Spain:

All involved sure had a short blast of a time in Spain this past week. It was my first experience with big Euro-festivals and everyone around seemed to agree that it was well worth the two days it took to get to the first show.
This here photo is of Marie who was filming much of the trip. I had her do a sort of re-creation of her Giant Sand Chore of Enchantment champagne pose from 1997. Except it is 9am in this photo and we are not in Tuscon, but somewhere between Valencia and San Sebastien and the year is 2006.

Pile of Shit Grammar Disclaimer:

My grammar and spelling are atrocious.
I know this.
I have known it for sometime.
I have done little to change this.
Lisa and Derrick hate me for it.
I cannot blame them....

May you cringe forever more.....
Polaris is not the brightest star in our night sky.....
This post has come to its' conclusion....
Now go for a walk while the humidity is sleeping.......
Over, rovers.........

Hmmmm:

I woke up in the middle of the night.

Not quite the middle of the night and not woken up even but still up and watching Jason Lytles' home-made Grandaddy videos': HERE is one... Meow , meow, meow, meow, meow...

Oh and secondly, thanks to Kelp Bartlett for sending me this You Tube from Westfest. I am a little hooked at times with this site when I remember about it.

Off to Spain on Tuesday for 6 days with Howe and the other Sno' Angels...

I cannot think of any other incomplete sentences to partially present, so I say good night. My last order of buisness is to go out back and find where Draves tucked away the rocking chair he dropped off here tonight.... Oh the glory of our lives up here...

Sleep tight....

Some Adeiu about Somethings:

Well here we are, an amazing summertime morning in my kitchen here in the "supercity".

"Is Calgary the new Toronto?" asks the radio voice. "Is Kemptville the new Arnprior?" Asks the kitchen dweller...

Sound and Vision:

There is a new demo of a song over yonder onder at www.myspace.com/jimbryson
Thanks to Sheppy for the Toro Bull

While you are there listenning, there is also a short "You Tube" video of Sleeping in Toronto from last months Westfest.
If any one else has any video footage of shows, it would be great to link to more of these in the future.

Ottawa Blues-fest

Our fair city's anual Bluesfest is getting going tonight. It runs for 10 days and offers great shows but only cans of Molson Canadian and Coors Lite as the alcoholic equalizer

We are scheduled to play next Friday the 14th at 7pm, and all being equal, the line-up will be: Peter, Jake, Jeremy, Mr. Draves and myself.

Ottawa Bluesfest info can be founded right HERE

Off and into the real world now...

Oh yes, I am going to slowly start again in the fall playing shows so anyone feeling like putting on a little show either in house or hall or basement, please send an e-mail my way.
