Lost in the Flood:
About three years ago my parents had a big flood in their basement. Family photo's and stuff were lost, altered and /or destroyed. I discovered when over there the last time in addition, most of the photos' that I had taken over the last almost 15 years were also damaged or destroyed. Such a drag, but the negatives are mostly ok, so I may slowly start to get the odd photo reprinted.
Summer Listening and Reading:
Thought I would share with you some listening and reading joys for this summer thus far:
1. Siruis Radio: I won one of these Sirius satelite radio's through CBC Radio 3 and have been loving driving around and listening to E! channel, Grant Lawrence, NPR and Classic Rewind, amounst many others.
2. Parts and Labor: Page got me on this and I am loving the Husker inspired goodness
3. Bob Dylan, Modern Times: I know, I know, but it sounds amazing and the 180G vinyl is awesome.
4. Chris Ware: I am onto collecting his Acme Novelty Library these days after being so taken with Jimmy Corrigan: Smartest Kid on Earth.
5. Meg Baird: A recent Birdman Sound suggestion that is pretty terrific minimal 60's inspired folk.
Enough of this writing, on with the holiday,
jim,
