i-Tunes / Zunior / Vinyl Etc...:

Hi, lots of notes here these days. Thanks to everyone who came out to the little release day show at Compact. I am shocked by how many of you decided to come by so early in the day. Thanks so much.

A few record notes for those who like reading about it:

Zunior / i Tunes:
The new release is up and ready for the downloading at both www.Zunior.com and at
i-Tunes Canada.
It marks a first for me as; for some reason, my last record was never made available in any digital format.
Anyway, that was then and this is now and thanks to Outside and Jake and Jon for making sure these were ready to go for release day.

Vinyl Versions:
Well, I have 500 covers at my front door and the record should be here by next week. We apologize that they are lagging a bit behind (quality control derailed an earlier test-pressing).
It looks great, has an extra song and comes with the whole album in MP3 format as well for all of you i-Vinyl folks.

Well thanks to you all again and to everyone involved in this record making / launching process, I have never been more proud to release a record with such fine folks.

Over, rovers,

Thank You:

A quick thank you to everyone who has been so amazingly helpful in all of the aspects it takes to make a record move from the dumb idea stage to all being done and out there. I sincerely appreciate it and wanted to thank you folks here who have been involved in this 'Bungalow.

Well, here we go,

A Quick Note:

I just wanted to mention how sad I am this Saturday evening to have no Grant Lawrence and Radio 3 to listen to on the kitchen radio. It was a real comfort zone in my life and it baffles me and breaks my heart to see it gone.
Thanks to Grant for having me and Jon Bartlett call in for the last show last Saturday, the show will be dearly missed by those I know.
That is all, come on out Tuesday at lunch for a free mini-show,

Hi All:

So much to say, so long it has been in not saying it. So let's just get to it. Sxsw was a blast for sure. Jon and I stayed up late, got up early and wandered and wondered around the town. He will have lots of photos' posted on his Flickr site I imagine soon. He is rocking it in California right now and then off to make his millions in Vegas before returning home next Monday.

Record News: CD, LP, MP3:

"Where the Bungalows Roam" comes out next Tuesday on Kelp Records in partnership with the Calgary label, Saved By Vinyl. Outside Music will be handling all the distribution here in our land of Canada. It will be widely available and also ready to roll at iTunes, I am told. The vinyl is a little bit behind schedule, but should be available for purchase at the Black Sheep CD release shows at the very latest. It has one extra song tagged on the end and comes with MP3s' all ready to squash into your iThing. Draves, Westhaver and I gave the test-pressings a passing grade and all feel this record is made to be heard this way (on vinyl that is).

Pre-orders are available as well by heading to Kelp Records Store page.

I will be playing a lunch time instore at the downtown Compact Music as a sort of kick-off for everything. Come on over, up or down or whatever direction that gets you there.

Release day Lauch/In-store. 12:30PM
Compact Music (Downtown Location)
190 Bank Street, Ottawa

Wherethebungalowsroam.com:

Thanks to JP Guevremont, we have a lovely "record dedicated" site started up. It features a stream of the full album and will have details on future events and all that.
So, go on over and have a listen and visit our new page HERE

Pressing Matters:

Some early print and radio type stuff to let you know of:

Anti-Hit List: My Marie of the Sea makes John Sakamotos' list for March 17th. See it and hear it HERE. (Podcast too).

Edmonton Sun Review: We will not list 'em all, but this is the first in, so why the heck not, HERE it is.

The Arts Tonight: The new record will be featured Monday 26th on the CBCs' Arts Tonight program. Heard nationally on CBC Radio 1 at 10pm.

Lastly He Says:

Thanks soooo much to Chris Page, Ken Beattie, JP, JB, Dawn Loucks and everyone at Outside who are working their asses off to get this ship out to sea without too many leaks. I am very, very, grateful for all the help.

See you all soon, here we go,

SXS...er...GO Denver!!!

So, I will keep it short for all the funny tales can be told later. But Austin is Denver tonight, but at least we found friends lost with us.
Jon Bartlett and I left Ottawa this morning for our SXSW trip and then watched day one slip away on a Colorado runway, waiting for a late plane to leave its' Gate.
We have Jill Barber and Les Cooper and Evan Newman with us and we made the best of it in a Denver hotel lobby. Until the power went outthat is...ha on us. JB and I carried luggage up 7 flights with glow sticks lighting the way.
Tomorrow, we fly to Dallas and drive to Austin in a round about getting ther fashion. Tomorrow though....we drink the Tecate.
More news as it develops,
